OUR LOVE STORY

HOW WE MET

Our love story began in June 2021 when Aunty Sweet, Youma’s aunt, introduced us. Although we lived in different countries, we were instantly intrigued by each other. FaceTime became our daily medium of communication, bridging the distance. We discovered shared interests and similar life goals, which led us to meet in person in October 2021. Our bond deepened as we committed to connecting daily and made several transatlantic trips to spend time together.

THE PROPOSAL

On a stormy day September 23, 2023, Youma, Marnee and Ugo were celebrating Youma’s birthday at brunch onboard the Spirit of Philadelphia cruiser. Amidst the celebration, Ugo seized the moment and, with a heart full of love, knelt down and asked, “Will you do me the honor of being my wife?” Overwhelmed with joy, Youma, radiant and excited, beamed and responded with an enthusiastic YES!
